The Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital
beckons for the serious falconer
fascinated by quick celestial
surgery on a falcon’s fibular.
Over eleven thousand falcons come
yearly for grooming and knitting repair
on their elegant, feathery wing hair,
so that they can soar blue, close to the sun.
Wearing black hoods on Astroturf perches,
falcons stand in rows, wait talon trimming
as a line of visitors stands gawking,
admiring the dignity of falcons.
You may book a tour Sunday through Thursday;
they expect to run until Judgement-Day
.
