Can you recollect the first kiss you had?
Apes have been kissing for millennia.
Sometimes a kiss carries an electric charge…

Have there been more wars than couples kissing?
Of course not, yet wars have a greater imprint.
Like us, animals can experience
joy, ecstasy, trauma, depression….
*
In drama, the kiss may be betrayal,
but that is mere sensational technique,
although that may have happened quite rarely.
since everything has happened more than once
to a species that is as fickle as we are!
*
While we humans are inconstant beings
the tender kiss still stands as poetry….
