I, who sang of quantum physics and light,
now baritone on the sport of soccer:
of the stop-gap ball block before a pass
that zips upfield to a midfield player
who, in turn, passes it to another,
and the upfield attack mobilizes
with fancy footwork, then passes the ball
to the fastest dribbler who takes off,
moving zigzag with dexterous finesse,
shooting quickly at the far-end goalpost,
scoring a sensational, winning goal!

Fans erupt in joyous celebration
while the wise coach responds with a big smile,
and a reporter snaps the front-page pic!
