Living in a world of nifty machines,
whether cars, trains, airplanes, helicopters,
creates considerations of mortality—
unexpected death of parents, children.
Life is a miracle, and we are stunned
when those close to us depart forever….
*
We all prefer to enjoy our short lives
with those whom we love and cherish daily,
yet when the thread of life is suddenly
sundered, we descend into bleary shock,
traumatized by the swelling period.
*
All of us would love to live forever,
yet we must accept our mortality
which should endow us with humility…
