“You can think of the entire environment jiggling, vibrating,”—Quantum physicist Louis Slocombe
That gradual tilt toward warmer weather
with sunny daffodil days and birdsong
symphony bursting from woodland landscape
beside muted burble of rushing creek
makes the joyous heart leap, knobby knees dance,
and staid toes wiggle in sudden delight.
Brute gusts reel dizzy, anticipating
upheaval of soil, buds on slim stalk.
In the parallel world of your psyche
similar exuberant cavorting
must be happening as wind shakes tree limbs
and ground grows soft as a child’s cheek.
The optimum response to Spring weather
consists of making your footstep lighter!
