There are times when we need a vacation:
to loll soft in bed or favorite chair,
to do nothing but listen to raindrops
patter on roof, digest that light music,
go for an evening stroll for a mile,
or take a mid-day half-hour snooze nap,
pour a cup of coffee or honeyed tea,
muse on memories of childhood events,
have a conversation with the closet,
imagine going on a vacation….

One might enjoy enigmatic, strange dreams,
or a conversation with a parent.
The varied byways of relaxation
are as numerous as the twilight stars….
