Tasmania

The platypus has a marvelous trick:

it can detect the electrical field

of any animal; all animals

emit an electrical signature;

only the platypus has this talent.

Although they have no teeth, they are fierce,

and able to drown a large nasty rat.

They have been around one-hundred-thirty

million years, while we have been here

about two-hundred thousand years.

During lactation they are great eaters,

consuming their weight in a single day.

Males have two double-headed penises.

Their brains are as densely layered as ours.
