Smithfield Church in northwest Amenia on Rte 83 will conduct its annual Christmas Concert & Tea sponsored by the Bang Family Concert Series this coming Saturday at 3 pm. This year the concert is dedicated to former church organist Will Carter who recently passed away; a new plaque will commemorate his service to Smithfield Church.

 Rev. Douglas Grandgeorge will welcome all. Percussionist Denise Finley will introduce the Smithfield Chamber Orchestra, as well as Director and Arranger Matt Finley. The program will be a mix of ten short pop, jazz, and classical music pieces This writer will read a poem for the occasion.

The concert will include works by Claude Debussy, Ivan Lins, Thad Jones, Hugh Martin, Felix Mendelssohn, Matt Finley, Eric Satie, Johann A.P. Schultz, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Stephen Schwartz. A twenty-dollar donation to support the players is suggested at the door. Snacks and refreshments will be served in the basement Fellowship Room after the concert and musicians will mingle.
