I love a field of blossoming clover,
which belongs to the legume family.
Clover fertilizes poor soil
with nitrogen. Their tri-leaf foliage
can grow in length up to a windy foot.

Clover originated in Europe,
yet has significant distribution
around the globe, especially northward.
Animals and birds are pleased to eat it.
*
There exist about 300 species.
Clover was a traditional native
American food that was eaten raw,
and its seeds can be used in baking bread.
*
Some rare clovers have over sixty leaves!
