Dream a little dream

by Kevin T McEneaney

Diving into the ink-well of dark dreams,

I dreamt people could make any object

just by thinking about an object:

think chair, a bowler hat, or transverse flute:

it would promptly, magically appear.

This dream was so amazingly comic….

Yet we can create by merely thinking:

words on paper, paintings, crafts, and music;

medicine creates these wondrous capsules

which extend our lifetime for many years.

We dream of our past and things yet to come;

our imaginations are a delight!

So why do we wish to kill each other?

The fly in the ointment is our ego….
