Still counting

by Kevin T McEneaney

Humans remain proud of their big brains,

yet whales and elephants have bigger brains.

Dolphins swim as substantial brainiacs.

Small brains can be sharp, sophisticated,

as in ants, bees, spiders, and butterflies.

The language of creation is numbers,

and we are still counting star galaxies

with the aid of mighty new telescopes.

*

Just recently, the James Webb telescope

has discovered hundreds of bright red dots,

which may be hundreds of new galaxies!
