There are times in life when one must relax;
that remains part of the pattern of life.
Pundits say relaxation is an art,
yet pundits practice exaggeration.
Quiet meditation is popular,
but for some that is severe discipline
that runs counter to ideal idleness
where whim reigns as the carnival monarch.
Embroidery, a forgotten pastime…
Some employ prayer beads—a monotonous
incantation that zeroes intellect…
Gardening is fashionable for some,
which may result in unwanted sweat beads…
Even poetry can be thorny work….
